This message is created by specifying the element name and floor on which it is located at the beginning of the report.

For example;

CE001 BASE STORY PMM ratio not satisfied.

In steel column design, the design ratio under the influence of axial force and biaxial bending (PMM ratio) is made in accordance with the Design, Calculation and Construction Principles of Steel Structures (GKT and YDKT), AISC 360-16 (ASD and LRFD) or EN 1993-1-1 regulations. . According to the Design, Calculation and Construction Principles of Steel Structures (GKT and YDKT), the calculation of axial force and biaxial bending interaction equations is stated below.

  • The PMM ratio value must be less than 1.

Possible Solutions:

  • The lateral retention size can be reduced by connecting braces or stability elements to the element whose name and floor are given. The bending and axial pressure capacity of the elements increases as the lateral retention length decreases.

  • The PMM ratio can be reduced if braces are entered to reduce the lateral retention length on the weak axis of the columns, as an example is shown in the picture below.

  • Element cross-section size can be increased.
