Steel Design Options

The design of the steel elements is made in accordance with the Steel Structures Design, Calculation and Construction Principles (GKT and YDKT), AISC 360-16 (ASD and LRFD), TS EN 1993-1-1 (Eurocode 3) regulations. In the Steel Design Options window, the options for the steel connection design and the design of cold-formed steel elements are also determined.

Location of Steel Design Options Dialog

You can find the Analysis and Design tab under the Design Parameters heading in the ribbon menu. Clicking the Steel icon, the Steel Design Options dialog can be opened.

Steel frame

Design is made according to the design code chosen by the user in accordance with the project specifications. Make your selection by clicking the left mouse button.

Cold-formed steel

The program automatically selects according to the selected steel frame regulation.

Connection

The program automatically selects according to the selected steel frame regulation.

Bolt group analysis method

Two main calculation methods, the elastic method or the instantaneous center of rotation methods, can be used in joints exposed to eccentric force. Click the option you want to apply.

Weld analysis method

Two main calculation methods, the elastic method or the instantaneous center of rotation methods, can be used for joints exposed to eccentric force. Click to determine your selection according to the differences in design philosophy of both methods and the efficiency rates of the connection types used.

Reduce HSS design wall thickness

The tube section can be selected by the user in order to take into account the section losses during the production phase stipulated by AISC.

Interaction factors method

When the TS-EN 1993-1-1 regulation is selected, it becomes effective. Select the method to be used.
