How ideCAD defines earthquake ground motion, according to ASCE 7-16?

...

Info
  • Acording According to ASCE 7-16, the design response spectrum is determined by multiplying the risk-targeted maximum considered earthquake (MCER) response spectrum by (2/3). Design The design response spectrum is in force for standard design.

Tip
  • According to ASCE 7-16, Earthquake Ground Motion Level and Performance Level are determined automatically.

...

Within the scope of ASCE 7-16, different earthquake ground motion levels are defined in Section11.2

11.2 - The Risk-Targeted Maximum Considered Earthquake (MCER)

MCER, the spectral magnitude of 2% probability of exceedance in 50 years and the corresponding return period of of 2475 years is , is very rare and characterizes the earthquake ground motion. The most severe earthquake effects considered by this standard are determined for the orientation that results in the largest maximum response to horizontal ground motions and with adjustment for targeted risk.
