Tie beams can be connected to columns from any point of the column.

To define a bond beam between the two columns above;

  • Click on the Tie Beam icon in the ribbon menu .

  • The beam toolbar will open.

  • Move the mouse cursor over the column. When the cursor changes shape, click the left mouse button.

  • Your tie beam will move with the movement of your mouse.

  • Enter the bond beam dimensions in the dimension boxes in the beam toolbar. As you enter the value, the preview of your tie beam will change.

  • You can define your tie beam by holding it from different points (lower corner, middle or upper corner) by clicking the offset button in the beam toolbar or pressing the spacebar. Every time you press the spacebar, your mania will change.

  • After you have determined the first point of your tie beam, place the cursor on the second column.

  • When the cursor changes shape, click the left button again. The program will create a preview of your next tie beam.

  • Press esc to exit the command. Your tie beam will be formed.
