This combination is a column-beam connection. After the column and beam are defined;
With quick drawing mode turned on;
From the Steel menu, click the Single Shear Plate Joint row.
In 3D perspective view, move the mouse pointer closer to the element, close to the support
After this process, the virtual image of the combination will appear.
If the combination is suitable, create the combination by clicking the left mouse button.
The combination will occur with default settings.
Quick drawing mode is off;
From the Steel menu, click the Single Shear Plate Joint row.
Click the column then the beam before the 3D perspective view.
The combination will occur with default settings.
Double-click the combination to change settings. The unification dialog will open.
Type Tab
There is a choice of whether the plate will be formed on the left or right side of the beam body.
Sheets Tab
Set the plate properties according to the schematic information provided.
Top and Bottom Notching Tabs
Beam Bolts Tab
The properties of the bolts connecting the plate to the beam are adjusted.
Bolt properties: Bolt class, bolt diameter and hole properties are set in bolt properties.
Resources Tab
The source properties of the joints given in the schematic representation are set in the Resources tab. Give the thickness, type, angle values and mark the option whether to weld under construction site conditions.
Welding geometry is determined automatically by the program. These properties can be changed to easily determine the joint properties. Geometry features are in accordance with industry standards and in the form specified in AISC.
Design Inputs
In the design inputs, the plate material and the strength of the welding electrodes are defined. The condition that the main element in the weld joint has less strength than the weld strength is controlled.
If necessary, click the list and define "new plate material". To create the welding electrode, give the information "Name" and "Strength" in the dialog that opens after clicking "Create New".
