This combination is a column-beam connection. After the column and beam are defined;
With quick drawing mode turned on;
From the Steel menu, click the Head Plate Welded Joint row.
In 3D perspective view, move the mouse pointer closer to the element, close to the support
After this process, the virtual image of the combination will appear.
If the combination is suitable, create the combination by clicking the left mouse button.
The combination will occur with default settings.
Quick drawing mode is off;
From the Steel menu, click the Head Plate Welded Joint row.
Click the column then the beam before the 3D perspective view.
The combination will occur with default settings.
Double-click the combination to change settings. The unification dialog will open.
Type and Plates Tab
Plate properties are adjusted according to the schematic information given.
Retaining Boards Tab
The purpose of the continuity plates is to support the column heads in the column-beam joints and to ensure the continuity of the beam head. Continuity plates are used for reinforcement in order to bend the column head and prevent column stem flow / wrinkle. If a continuity plate will be made, the option is marked. The geometric properties of the sheet are adjusted according to the schematic picture given.
If the column body thickness is insufficient, reinforcement plates are used to meet the shear effect of the panel area. If the body reinforcement plate will be made, the option is marked. The geometric properties of the sheet are adjusted according to the schematic picture given.
Slip Plate Bolts Tab
Determine the number of bolts connecting the slip plate to the beam and the distances between bolts according to the schematic representation given.
Bolt properties: Bolt class, bolt diameter and hole properties are set in bolt properties.
Cuts Tab
For easy assembly of the plates in the field, the use of slope, slope type and geometric properties are determined in the joint settings dialog.
Resources Tab
The source properties of the joints given in the schematic representation are set in the Resources tab. Give the thickness, type, angle values and mark the option whether to weld under construction site conditions.
Welding geometry is determined automatically by the program. These properties can be changed to easily determine the joint properties. Geometry features are in accordance with industry standards and in the form specified in AISC.
Design Entries Tab
In the design inputs, the plate material and the strength of the welding electrodes are defined. The condition that the main element in the weld joint has less strength than the weld strength is controlled.
If necessary, click the list and define "new plate material". To create the welding electrode, give the information "Name" and "Strength" in the dialog that opens after clicking "Create New".
