Entire Message:

There is no coupling beam shearwall in the (X/Y direction) direction.

A14 structural system is defined in the earthquake code as buildings where the effects of earthquakes are met by concrete frames with high moment transmitting ductility and concrete shears with high ductility level.

Possible solutions:

  • It is possible to arrange the carrier system in such a way as to provide sufficient coupling beam shearwall conditions for the selection of A14 carrier system type.

  • If the shearwalls with coupling beams in the system cannot meet the requirements of the shearwalls, A13 and A15 structural system types with no gaps can be selected in the Analysis Settings/TBDY 2018 Earthquake Code Wizard.

  • If shearwalls with or without gaps are not to be used, A11 structural system type can be selected for systems with high ductility level, and A31 structural system type can be selected for systems with limited ductility level.
