How to use the Overstrength Factor
In structural systems, the overstrength factor Ωo is calculated automatically in all elements at appropriate internal forces.
The overstrength factor, Ωo, is applied differently for each element. Application of Ωo is explained in detail in the following titles for reinforced concrete elements.
The cases where Ωo is applied can be seen in the design strength report of all elements. In the sample column report below, it is clearly seen at what forces the overstrength factor, Ωo, is applied.
