By clicking on an empty place in the drawing area and moving the cursor from left to right, only the objects within the rectangle are selected, when the cursor is moved from right to left, both the objects within the rectangle and all objects that the cursor passes over are selected. Moreover, the opposite is applied by holding down the shift key during the process.
