Vertical Geometric Irregularity per ASCE 7-16

Vertical geometric irregularity is defined as the horizontal dimension of the seismic force-resisting system in any story is more than 130% of that in an adjacent story for any of two earthquake directions perpendicular to each other.

Vertical geometric irregularity is applied for seismic design categories D, E, and F.
