Building Performance Levels

ICONS

CC = Continuous Use
AD = Limited Damage
HR = Controlled Damage
NR = Pre-Collapse

3.4. BUILDING PERFORMANCE LEVELS
Building Performance Levels for building structural systems under earthquake effect are
defined in 3.4.1, 3.4.2, 3.4.3, 3.4.4, as a basis for the definition of Building Performance Targets.

3.4.1. Uninterrupted Use (CC) Performance Level
This performance level corresponds to the situation in which no structural damage has occurred in the structural elements of the building structural system or the damage remains negligible.

3.4.2. Limited Damage (SH) Performance Level
This performance level corresponds to the damage level where limited damage occurs in the structural elements of the building, in other words, the nonlinear behavior is limited.

3.4.3. Controlled Damage (HR) Performance Level This performance level corresponds to the damage level that is not too heavy and mostly repairable in the structural elements of the building in order to ensure life safety .

3.4.4. Prevention of Collapse (DL) Performance Level This performance level corresponds to the pre-failure situation where severe damage to the structural elements of the building occurs. Partial or complete collapse of the building is prevented.
