  • Two different situations are taken into account when determining the internal forces for the design of the columns:

a) Shear force, axial force and bending moments computed by considering the load combinations which also includes the earthquake effect.

b) Axial force obtained by increasing the axial tensile and compressive forces by the overstrength factor D, regardless of the bending moment.
