How ideCAD defines the damping ratio according to ASCE 7-16?

  • Design acceleration spectra used within the framework of design rules are automatically calculated according to the 5% damping ratio according to C12.9.1.3.

  • If the designer wants to change the damping ratio, it can be changed from the response spectrum case tab.
