Modeling of Steel Structural System for Strength Based Design

As stated in TBDY 2018 4.5.1.1 and 4.5.1.2 conditions, the mathematical model of the building is generated in three dimensions. The earthquake effect in two horizontal directions perpendicular to each other is taken into consideration.

The damping ratio is taken as 5% according to TBDY 2018 4.5.1.3.

Live load reduction factor, n, is taken as 0.3 since the building is used as an office. The total mass of the building is given in the introduction of the dynamic analysis report. Also, it can be checked in the story parameters section of the upper toolbar ‘Analysis and Design’ tab. G and Q are given for all floors one by one at story parameters section.
