Design Coefficients and Factors ASCE 7-16
Design Coefficients and Factors ASCE 7-16
How does ideCAD define design coefficients according to ASCE 7-16?
In ASCE 7-16 Wizard, structural system type and response modification coefficient, overstrength factor, and deflection amplification factor should be chosen for X and Y directions.
According to the chosen structural system type and in the X direction, the appropriate response modification coefficient, overstrength factor, and deflection amplification factor are selected from the list. Table 12.2-1 includes structural height and seismic design category limitations.
