Load Combination

When analysis is made in the program, combinations of earthquake, vertical and, if any, soil and wind loads are defined automatically in accordance with the regulation. These combinations, created according to TBDY 2018 - TS500 and the selected steel design regulation, are used to determine the most unfavorable design in element reinforced concrete.

Load combinations are displayed in the sturcture tree under the Analysis folder.

It is possible to define different load combinations in the program with the Combination command.

Load Combinations for Concrete Design

These combinations, created according to TBDY 2018 and TS500, are used to determine the most unfavorable design in element reinforced concrete.

Load Combinations for Steel Design

These combinations, created according to TBDY 2018 and TS500, are used to determine the most unfavorable design in element reinforced concrete.

These combinations, created according to the steel design regulation (AISC 360-16 ASD or LRFD, ÇYTHYEDY GKT or YDKT, TS EN 1991-1-1) selected with TBDY 2018, are used in the design of steel elements.

For example, steel design combinations automatically defined according to AISC 360-16 LRFD are shown in the image below.

Location of Combination Command

You can access it from the ribbon menu, Analysis and Design tab, under the Define heading.

Usage Steps

  • Click the combination icon.

  • The Combination Settings dialog will open.

  • In the dialog, type a description in the Combination Name line.

  • Click the Add New Row button.

  • In the line that opens, select an load from the load case.

  • Give the multiplier of that loading in the factor.

  • Click the Add New Row button again .

  • From the load case, select the load for which you want to complete the combination and enter its factor.

  • Click the OK button to close the dialog.

Specifications

Combination name

Enter the name of the load case status.

Factor and load case

Specify which load cases to use for the combination. Select the load cases from the list. Enter your factor.

Add new row/Insert row

Opens a new row in the table.

Move up/Move down

Changes the order of the selected load case.

Combination type

For the combination type, either linear add or envelope is selected.

Use for concrete design

It is the information whether the extreme forces calculated using the relevant load case will be taken into account in the concrete design. If checked, it will be taken into account.

Use for steel design

It is the information whether the end forces calculated using the relevant load case will be taken into account in the steel design. If checked, it will be taken into account.

Use for soil stress check

It is the information whether the extreme forces calculated using the relevant load case will be taken into account in the soil stress control. If checked, it will be taken into account.
