Application of Overstrength Factor (4.3.5.4)

Application of Overstrength Factor (4.3.5.4)

  • In building load-bearing systems, the Strength Excess Coefficient D is calculated automatically in all elements at appropriate internal forces.

The Strength Excess Coefficient D is applied differently for each element. Application D is explained in detail in the following titles for reinforced concrete elements.

Column Design.

Beam Design.

Shearwall Design

Polygonal Cross-Section Shearwall Design

Slab Design

Foundation Beam Design

The cases where Strength Excess Coefficient D is applied can be seen in the design strength report of all elements. In the sample column report below, it is clearly seen at what forces the Strength Excess Coefficient D is applied.
