Composite castellated beam strength not satisfied.

Composite castellated beam strength not satisfied.

This message is created by specifying the element name and floor on which it is located at the beginning of the report.

For example,

SB001 BASE STORY Composite beam strength not satisfied.

This warning is given if the following design conditions are not met in the steel composite castellated beam design.

  • The construction bending moment design ratio and design shear force ratio should be below 1.00.

  • The composite bending moment design ratio and design shear force ratio should be below 1.00.

The strength of steel castellated beams is calculated according to the conditions specified below.

Castellated beam strength not satisfied.

Possible Solutions:

  • Steel element cross-section can be enlarged.

  • Secondary beam spacing can be reduced.

  • If the composite beam has a partial composite status, PCC ratio can be increased by increasing the number of shear studs.

  • For Vierendeel control, "Cas. filled hole count on the start" and "Cas. filled hole count on the end" of the element whose name and floor are given can be increased.
