Composite beam strength not satisfied.

Composite beam strength not satisfied.

This message is created by specifying the element name and floor on which it is located at the beginning of the report.

For example,

SB001 BASE STORY Composite beam strength not satisfied.

This warning is given if the following design conditions are not met in the steel composite beam design.

  • The construction bending moment design ratio should be below 1.00.

  • The composite bending moment design ratio should be below 1.00.

  • The design shear force ratio should be below 1.00.

Possible Solutions:

  • Steel element cross-section can be enlarged.

  • Secondary beam spacing can be reduced.

  • If the composite beam has a partial composite status, PCC ratio can be increased by increasing the number of shear studs.
