Structural Systems with Nominal Ductiliy Level Shearwall and Moment Frames (4.3.4.7)

  • Automatic comparison is made according to Equation 4.3 in buildings where reinforced concrete walls with limited ductility level are used together with non-void reinforced concrete walls .

Ductility limited spaces in buildings with reinforced concrete walls used in combination with the limited ductility of concrete frame Equation 4.3 't given condition must be provided. The sum of the tipping moments caused by earthquake loads at the base of the walls, M DEV , should not be less than 75% of the total tipping moment M o occurring at the base from earthquake loads for the whole building .

In case that the condition of Equation 4.3 is not fulfilled, the R and D coefficients defined for the cases where all of the earthquake effects are met with frames of limited ductility level and the permissible BYS should be considered.

The following example ductility limited ductility reinforced concrete walls with spaces for a building that used a combination of limited concrete frame "Curtain Breakdown Torque Control" report is shown. Since the condition of Equation 4.3 under the control of TBDY 4.3.4.7 , [sağM DEV <0.75M o ] is provided for this building, A33 load-bearing system can be used for this building, in which no- gap reinforced concrete walls with limited ductility level are used together with reinforced concrete frames with limited ductility level .
