Polygonal Cross-Section Walls (4.5.3.3)

Polygonal Cross-Section Walls (4.5.3.3)

  • In reinforced concrete walls with cross-section shape I, T, L, U or C, the ratio of the length of at least one shear wall arm in each direction to its thickness should be at least 6 (six). Otherwise, the structural system element will not be counted as a shear wall in that direction. If this condition is not met in the geometry control , a warning is given automatically and the error is listed on the first page of the reports.

In I, T, L, U or C section shear walls , the ratio of the length of the shear wall arm (or arms) to the thickness of the section may be less than 6, if the tie beam curtain meets the condition. This control is not carried out if the tie-beam curtain condition is complied with.
